Nakedness and more...

Madelyn often changes her outfit, puts on PJs in the middle of the day, or just runs around naked...she can do all of this on her own, so I only have so much control...but on my watch, all of this takes place IN the house. Well, I've caught her outside with her daddy dressed less than appropriate a few times lately :)
Here she is painting in the FRONT yard completely NAKED!
snack time out front...at least she has pants on...and a cap :)

We bought this "Keep Austin Weird" shirt on our last visit, and she loves to wear it. I think she looks so cute...

I had an extra make-up bag with make-up in it that I don't really use, so Madelyn has claimed it as her own. Here she is putting on her make-up...

The flower and pot she brought home from school for Mother's Day!

Madelyn has been especially interested in drawing lately. She likes to draw people, and I was shocked when she drew this on her chalkboard...I thought it was so good :)
She also REALLY wants to learn her letters. I draw them first and then she copies. There are only a few letters that actually look anything like what I drew, and "A" is one of them. Check it out...
She has mastered how to show numbers with her fingers....she is VERY proud of herself as it is hard to hold down the fingers you don't want to stand up :) Here she is showing she is two years old...This is my favorite picture of her right now...love the messy hair!

3rd Annual Joseph Get-Together!

We stayed at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch for the third time! We are considering trying somewhere new next year, but we love this place!
Granny and Papa never show up empty-handed. When we arrived, Madelyn had many presents to open. A fishing game...
the cutest croquet set ever...
and a few other things I didn't get a pic of...a really cool castle tent and this thing called My Grandfather's Briefcase full of neat stuff! thanks granny and papa!!

Playing with Granny...
Relaxing on the swing with Papa...

This year we brought Madelyn her own boat for the lazy river :)
She tried the big tubes too!
Floating with Uncle Kyle and Aunt Kristy...
M and Brittney...
Madelyn still talks about the smores from last year, so she was SO excited to make them again. We all roast our own marshmallows but then Aunt Sharon is the master of smashing them between the crackers and chocolate, so we head straight to her with our gooey mallows :)
Hanging out by the fire pit...eating a few extra marshmallows!
We hung out at the pool also. Popio pulled Madelyn around on her boat...she loved it!
water cannon! squirting Popio!
Swimming lessons with Mema...
and a little volleyball action! first just the guys played (Clint and Travis), then Brittney and I gave it a whirl...

Madelyn has made it a tradition over the past several months to not sleep while out of town :( She caught a catnap in the car one night, and as you can see, I was thrilled. I'll take sleep anywhere, anytime at this point :)

Here's the whole gang...too bad the nice samaritan that took our photo had his finger over the lens or flash or something...you can still see everyone's faces though

Easter in Lubbock!

HAPPY EASTER!!!
I guess Madelyn was bored in the backseat on the 5.5 hour drive, so she got into the bag with her change of clothes. When I looked back, this is what I saw...

We had a playdate at a bounce house place with Blythe!
We set up the pool in the backyard and Madelyn "bathed" her daddy...
Going through her Easter basket from Mema and Popio...
After swimming, she told us she was freezing and asked for some hot chocolate...this picture makes me smile :)
Then Popio got a hold of the water hose...
and helped Madelyn surprise Daddy!
She thought it was hilarious and sprayed us all! I thought it was funny too as I had the camera and hadn't gotten wet yet :) But when I finally set the camera down, Clint grabbed me and held me right in front of Madelyn...he didn't let go until I was soaked...much to Madelyn's delight :)

Downtime with Mema...watching Barney
Don't Wake the Dragon! ...my parents have it from when I was little. Such a cool game!
at Academy, Madelyn strapped herself into this life vest. It is still on the hanger which is still on the clothes rack, so she was stuck and hollering Help, Help! I came to her rescue...after laughing and taking a picture :)
Easter egg hunt in her Easter dress!

Look, Pop!

it's full!
Her eggs were stuffed with Annies cheddar bunnies, chocolate and vanilla bunnies, and fruit snacks!

Love how she is sitting...
Dying Easter eggs with Mema...

The hairdryer would shrink wrap these cool egg covers!

final product...
and of course she did some cooking with Popio...here she is peeling potatoes...
