Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween! Here are some pictures of our day...

getting ready for the Trick-or-Treaters!

Lauren and Jeff came over last night with their daughter, Aurora...she is only 8 days younger than Madelyn. We just had to get together for Halloween because Madelyn and Aurora were both bumblebees!

playing in the wagon...before the costumes. Aurora loved it and her daddy promised her he would buy her a wagon too!

here they are...the cutest bumblebees you've ever seen!

here we go! Madelyn has decided that it is more fun to push the wagon, so she chauffeured Aurora. We took the girls to a few of our neighbors for trick-or-treating...they got some good candy for their mommies and daddies!

our neighbors across the street dressed up their dogs and one of them was a bumblebee too!

when we got back home, we ate a jack-o-lantern cake! For dinner, we had Chicken Divan...a Vieiro family favorite!

then the girls got their treats...a Halloween book each...I thought this was only fair considering they had to turn over all the candy they were given that night
and of course Madelyn slept in her spooky Halloween PJs!

When the Skipworths left, our doorbell rang many more times and Madelyn was thrilled to answer it and see all the kids in their costumes. Clint ended up just sitting on the front porch with her because she would get upset every time we closed the door. And then she was not happy to go to bed...she was just having too much fun. The doorbell rang while Clint was changing her diaper before bed and she started crying! We had to turn off our porch light so she wouldn't hear the doorbell anymore and get some sleep!

Here are some more pictures from yesterday afternoon. We put M's costume on her to try to get some pictures before we had company. Of course we took a ton of pics, so I will try to narrow it down.

playing with a pumpkin...

pollinating the flowers...ha ha!

ok, I was trying not to post too many pictures, but she is just so stinkin' cute! Here is the last collage...

Catching up

I had some pictures from the past few weeks that never made it on the blog, so I'm trying to catch up!

Playdate with Carter

aren't they cute?!
M at the library...reading books and doing puzzles

I wanted to take her to the toddler storytime, but I got confused and was there for the baby class, so we went in anyway. We definitely won't be going to baby storytime anymore! Madelyn would not sit with me to participate in the songs, kept crawling around and under the parachute (at the wrong time), and then was stealing the books and balls from the poor little 6 month olds. She was the only mobile one and was taking advantage of it!

sleeping...I love when babies sleep with their legs tucked under them

wearing/playing with sunglasses in the grocery store!

we set outside for lunch and Madelyn enjoyed the fountain...we let her play for a bit so she didn't have to be in her highchair so long...a more challenging task the older she gets!

Saturday night, the Maedgens had us and a few other couples over for burgers and to watch the UT game! We had a very fun evening talking with the adults while the kids ran wild! They had lots of fun!
who knew the bumbo would be so much fun? They were taking turns climbing in and out of it...maybe we need to get ours back out!

Katie, Jordan, and me

the kiddos playing

Jordan, me, Lauren, and Katie. It was great to see Lauren before the new baby brother arrives...in about a week!

Clint made a new friend...Hudson

We also went to the doctor this morning for Madelyn's 12 month well child visit. Here are her stats:

height - 31.8 inches, 97% I am always amazed at her height!
weight - 21 lbs, 1 oz, 46% We expected her weight to have gone up a little more, but the dr said she was concentrating on getting taller right now!

She had to get 4 shots and is now sleeping off the Tylenol I gave her! The 12 month shots are different vaccines than she has had in the past, so hopefully she will not have any reactions (she never has with previous shots).

Walking...and crashing!

Here are some clips of Madelyn walking! If you have the sound on, you can see and hear how excited she gets!! Enjoy!

Uncle Kevin and Aunt Lindsey

Our weekend started out with a Longhorn victory over the Sooners!!! Hook 'em!

Madelyn looked adorable and so big in her jeans and t-shirt...

Then, even more exciting than TX/OU weekend...the Carlsons came to visit!! Kevin (Clint's best friend from high school), Lindsey, and Cadence stayed with us until Tuesday. Though they had to share their time with Kevin's mom, we managed to fit a lot in and give the girls plenty of time to play. Cadence is 21 months old and was a joy to have around. She is so well mannered and was very sweet with Madelyn....great at sharing too. She gave us a hopeful look ahead into the near future!

bath time
the moms were on bath duty once and the dads the other

The Zoo
Cady and Madelyn were more fascinated by these statues than the real animals :-)
neither Cadence nor Madelyn wanted to ride the pony, but petting it was fun

both girls love tunnels...

We took the wagon to the zoo instead of the stroller...much easier to get Madelyn in and out of and she was much happier!

The Carlsons had an early Christmas at his mom's house...nothing says Christmas like Sesame Street...I couldn't resist taking pictures of the decorated pumpkins! We were invited over for dinner one night.

Cadence loved Madelyn's new rocking horse! Somehow we only got pics with Madelyn though...Cady is on the video camera because she was a pro horse rider!
hugs!
Breakfast! Since it is now mid-October, we broke out the Halloween PJs !

the girls had a blast...as you can see...

finally, a group shot!

a few more daddy/daughter pics...
Chicken fight!?!

The Carlsons live in Maryland, so we don't get to see them nearly as often as we would like. Thanks for a great long weekend! Come back anytime!
