Happy Halloween!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween. We had a really busy weekend, so I tried to pick and choose the pictures to show a bit of all of it. On Friday, Aunt Melissa (Clint's little sister) came in town and we went to a Halloween festival with the Harns.

Melissa and Madelyn
a beautiful fairy and a handsome Woody...
the fairy and her daddy...
There were tons of games and bounce houses....
Madelyn and Lincoln have this new thing of running together and then crashing onto the floor!
Melissa headed out on Sat afternoon, and the three of us went to another Halloween celebration. Our friends, Katie and Reid, were hosting their neighborhood party in their front yard. Madelyn had fun playing with Reid, Carter, and River but somehow I didn't get any pictures...probably because they don't stand still for two seconds :) She didn't wear her costume this time but opted for the pumpkin shirt and bow!

I just thought this was funny...this is Madelyn ready for bed Sat night :)
Sunday we ventured to yet another Halloween festival. They were all fun, but this one takes the prize! It was at Prestonwood Baptist Church and there was a TON of stuff to do.
Madelyn has been on the carousel at the mall, but this was a REAL carousel!! She told us she wanted to ride but we weren't sure if she would get on once it came time. So we stood in line to find out...she was a little nervous to climb on, and I (lovingly) yelled from behind the ropes "Just put her up there...she'll be fine!" And guess what...she LOVED it!
There was an entire football field devoted to pre-schoolers! Here is Madelyn playing a lawnmower game...
and a shopping game...
and sliding down a bounce house...
Then after playing a little football (she runs and Clint tackles her), she sat on the field for a while to enjoy her candy. She learned how to eat pixy stix...

When we got home, we took a few pics before it got dark...

No, this is not our house...I would never decorate with spiders :) We borrowed our neighbor's house because we didn't have any decorations!
Then we went trick-or-treating with the UPS man (Jensen from across the street). He is so sweet...he refers to Madelyn as "my best friend"
This was Madelyn's first house. I had prepped her well...she walked up and said trick-or-treat really loudly, took her candy, said thank you, and then...walked into the people's house! Oops...I guess I forgot to mention it was time to leave after that :)

thought this was really cute...
I also want to give a huge shout out to my Grandma and Aunt Nicole. They made Madelyn's whole costume!!! While the head piece never lasted on her head for too long, anyone who saw it said how gorgeous it was and how cute Madelyn looked! Thanks!

Ice Cream!!

I think these pictures are really cute now, but Madelyn was pretty miserable at the time. She is sleeping on a towel and her hair is up in all sorts of clips because she was vomiting every 10 minutes...it was so sad. She had some sort of bug I guess, but thankfully it only lasted about 5 hours total. I have talked to several other people who have done the same thing. I won't lie though, she was so sweet while she was sick that Clint and I were taking advantage of it...she would sleep in our arms and on the couch...VERY unusual for her...

Playdate at Carter's....Jordan is brave and lets the kids "hold" Charlotte. Madelyn of course loves it. Jordan is also very patient with Madelyn and lets her help with other duties as well, like feeding. Thanks Jordan!! (and thanks to my Aunt Nicole for the super-cute outfit)

First ice cream cone!!! I wanted ice cream after dinner the other night, so we got Madelyn the kids cone, which I thought would be smaller, but apparently not...maybe it's just cheaper? She picked out pink ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed herself! (same day as pumpkin patch in case you noticed her dress and pigtails :) )

She eventually traded me for my cup, but at least she shared with Daddy...
This was walking down to the ice cream shop...M dancing to the music on Daddy's shoulders...
We went to Gattitown with Lincoln, where he and M had a friendly competition of air hockey!

Pumpkin Patch

Madelyn and I went with the Carrollton ECPTA (Early Childhood PTA) to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch! They had bounce houses, a hay ride, and lots of good photo opps!

Madelyn in the pumpkin house...which gave everything an orangish tint...

playing at the wooden playhouse, and posing out front...
Madelyn and I on the hay ride...
which took you to a pumpkin patch where each child could choose a pumpkin to take home!
Madelyn made a break-away toward the water...
Madelyn, the friendly ghost!!
She walked over to the horses and told me she was going to feed her pumpkin to them. She then threw her pumpkin over the fence...I really didn't feel like trying to get it and no one seemed to be watching so I just told her to go pick another one :)
She then decorated her pumpkin with stickers! It was a fun idea but the pumpkins were so dirty, the stickers didn't stick for long.
Some more cute photos...

Pumpkin Hugs!!
Madelyn had lots of fun and she is proud of the pumpkin she got to pick all by herself...she keeps it in her room.

Catching Up...

Below is an assortment of pictures that hadn't made it onto the blog yet...

Madelyn and Emma shopping at the Galleria...
She ALWAYS tries on shoes...
We went to the Plano Hot Air Balloon Festival. The pics are not great because it was at night, but here are a few...

Madelyn and Lincoln riding the carousel at the mall...
We ate at a restaurant with fountains nearby...Madelyn started off by only sticking her hands in the water but of course left soaking wet!

River's 2nd birthday party...we enjoyed PB&Js, bananas, and cupcakes at the park...

Madelyn and Lincoln sporting their burnt orange...and fireman/hard hats!
Niki and Asher were in town so we met them for a picnic at the park...so great to see them! Asher is precious! Madelyn stole his sunglasses...
Lastly, Madelyn was refusing her bath one night, but she agreed to take a shower with Daddy. Here he is teaching her how to catch the water in her mouth, then spit it out! Lovely :)
