Avery

Meagan and Avery are in town, so the girls got to play for a little bit yesterday. Meagan is a good friend from Lubbock and her precious daughter Avery is about to turn one!

Guy Trip

Remember I mentioned Clint was out of own for work? Well, he was in Arizona and his best friend from high school, Kevin, met him there. They stayed at a nice resort (because work was paying) and found plenty of time for going out to eat, swimming, gambling, attending a baseball game, and hiking. Here are some pics from the hikes. They hiked to a swimming hole where they went cliff diving! All of it looks dangerous to me, but they both came back in one piece and had lots of fun...I've already overheard them talking about going back.

Lubbock

Clint had to go out of town for work this week, so Madelyn and I decided to take advantage of our free time and visit my parents. I was a little nervous because this was M's first flight, and I was by myself! I just didn't know how I was going to carry everything. My parent's bought a car seat though which gave me one less thing to lug around, so everything turned out fine. Turns out Madelyn is a great traveler...she did not cry once on the plane!

And, only proud grandparents would act this silly in a restaurant! Madelyn has been practicing for football season with her new "touchdown" game. Every time she would raise her arms, Gramma and Papa Jo would do the same...which made her very excited and she did this over and over...I just had to get a picture!

Father's Day

We spent Father's Day weekend in Horseshoe Bay! Clint's aunt, uncle, and cousin Rebecca invited us down to their lake house. Clint's dad was also there, so they were able to spend Clint's first Father's Day together.

Brittney and Travis

My cousin, Brittney, and her fiance, Travis, have been here with us the past few days! They gave Madelyn (especially Brittney) constant attention and she was eating it up. She would fuss at me when I would take her away from Brittney to eat, nap, etc. They actually just left a little bit ago, and Madelyn is not going to be very happy when she wakes up to find only mommy here for her to play with.

Madelyn and Travis played the Wii together! She held the remote with him and even tried to climb back onto his lap when Brittney took her away!

We went to the pool today where Madelyn thoroughly enjoyed playing with a noodle that a very well-mannered 4-year old gave her.

Brittney and Travis are getting married next month! We will be traveling to Corpus Christi for the wedding and look forward to seeing the rest of the fam!

Friends

Our good friends Jen and Gui Vieiro were in Dallas this weekend visiting family, so they came to see us for a bit on Sunday! They live in Austin and have seen Madelyn a few times now. They found that she had changed a lot and really grown up...more like a little girl now. I met Jen at UT...we were in the same sorority....and the four of us have been friends for years now. We often took turns having the other couple over for dinner...when we lived in Austin that is. They are the kind of people who you can sit around talking with for hours...they are very sweet and genuinely care about what is going on in our lives. We have really missed them since we moved away and it was great to spend some time with them.

I love Uncle Gui and Aunt Jen!!! They brought me a new book called "Peek-a-Who?" I have already read it dozens of times! Thanks!

Today we spent time with another friend, Cristina. Cristina is a friend from graduate school who also lives in Dallas...though I had not seen her since Madelyn was born until we had lunch the other day....we really need to be better about keeping in touch! It should be easier now...Cristina is a teacher so she is out for her summer break. She went with us to story time today and did all the interactive songs with Madelyn. It was kind of neat for me to be able to watch all of Madelyn's excited expressions since she was on somebody else's lap.

Jordan and Carter met us there too. We all met in the food court for our ritual of Chick-fil-A before story time. And then we were pleasantly surprised to see a friend from playgroup there too. The above pic is Carter, Madelyn and Hudson...all wearing matching yellow outfits!
