San Antonio

We took a family vacation to San Antonio and everyone had a blast! We stayed at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch for the first time and all agree it is great...especially for kids! I always take WAY too many pictures when we travel, so you can go through them quickly if you want, or skip all my cheesy commentary :)

Granny and Papa never show up without presents! They brought Madelyn more than enough toys to entertain her. Thanks!
Madelyn was headed to Granny and Papa's room a lot...they had all the toys and food!
the hotel had a fun playground...
we roasted s'mores one night for dessert!...
Madelyn showing her giant cookie...Granny and Papa also never show up without treats to eat!
hug sandwich...
she loves to ride on shoulders...
We went to Sea World!!
even at Sea World, Madelyn finds somewhere to hang...
What's this? Popio doing the twist!

Madelyn waving bye to Shamu when he "waved" to the crowd...
group shot...except for me...someone has to take the picture

back at the hotel, we enjoyed the lazy river...
and the beach...

Madelyn and her great-Papa...
hugs...
Madelyn and Aunt Sharon...
all of us at dinner one night...
Madelyn loves to put stickers all over people's clothes or "outfits" as she likes to say...Papa was a great sport!
More fun at the hotel pool. Madelyn played at the splash ground and loved shooting hoops in the pool. Oh yeah, spraying people with the water cannon was pretty fun too!
1, 2, 3, JUMP! I love this mid-air shot!
Madelyn loves playing in the water with her daddy because he really plays...I am more of a lounger myself!
Madelyn and Gramma...
This trip really brought out the kid in all of us...we took full advantage of the water slides! Madelyn desperately wanted to go down the slide and even escaped once to start climbing the staircase, but hotel rules kept her from even riding on our laps :( The first pic is Clint and the second two my dad...
swimming with Popio...
Popio, Madelyn, and Gramma...

There's nothing like lounging by the pool with a cold drink!!...

Then, though we had a fairly long drive back to Dallas and had already eaten tons of Mexican food in SA, we couldn't resist stopping at Matt's El Rancho in Austin for one more delicious meal. You can never have too much Mexican food, in my opinion. And Madelyn definitely takes after me...she was dipping a chunk of cheese into the queso!! She thoroughly enjoyed her Bob Armstrong Dip! By the way, this was a very last minute decision...otherwise we would have called some of our friends to meet us...next time!

Never Take Your Eyes off of Her...

At Target, after Madelyn convinced me to let her out of the cart, I was busy shopping when I heard "hanging!" I turned around to see this...

She can't even reach the bar, so she has to climb up the front of the cart, grab on, and then HANG!!! I cracked up when I saw her and then took a picture so now she thinks it is really cool and wants to do it every time :)

and, here is one more picture that a friend sent me from the butterfly release. Here is our butterfly :)

Train and Cruise!

Playgroup last week was at the train park! I thought Madelyn looked too cute driving the train...
and swinging...
Then Saturday morning, a coffee shop just down the street had a little kids program where they went on a cruise while eating their donuts!! The lady had lots of puppets, props, and fun, interactive songs.

Here is the entertainer rowing her boat...
Madelyn devouring her donuts :)
They waved their flags (I think to say goodbye to their parents as they left for their cruise)
They ran into some pirates...arrghh!

then made a stop in Hawaii...
not sure how the cruise ended b/c the show was kind of long (for short attention spans) and when Madelyn became more interested in chugging Clint's orange juice, we snuck out.

Well, we had more rainy weather, but when the rain let up a little, we tried out Madelyn's new rainboots! Our neighbor gave them to her and while they are a little on the big side, they are super cute!
heading out to play...
stomping/splashing in the puddle...
I couldn't resist a close-up of the boots...they have cupcakes on them!
The last two pictures crack me up! She looks like she is doing some kind of crazy rain dance! She is actually using her pointer fingers to get puddle water (which I tried to show in the next pic) all over her face...
