Home Sweet Home

We left Friday to spend the weekend in Lubbock! My parents and Clint's dad had not seen Madelyn in a little while so we brought their granddaughter to them. A family friend, Holly, who had not yet met Madelyn was also in town, so it just seemed like a good weekend to make the trip. Holly actually used to be my babysitter when I was younger and she was attending Tech. We have stayed in touch with her family after all these years (her younger sister Cristy babysat us after Holly graduated) and they are two of the sweetest women I know. Ironically, she was also Clint's typing teacher in junior high!

I had an audience for everything I did!

But I got to eat in mommy's high chair from when she was a little girl!

Yes, that is a Rosa's cup in the picture! We went to Rosa's, Lana's favorite restaurant...ok, it is more like fast food, but definitely restaurant quality. We also went to Clint's favorite, which is One Guy From Italy...in case you were wondering.

I even got Easter presents from Grandma and Grandpa! Don't I look cute in my new hat?

Clint's Aunt Ann came by to see Madelyn too.

But wait, that's not all, one more couple came over to meet the center of attention...Mary and Roy Turner. They came bearing gifts as well...two very cute books, which is appropriate because Mary is a teacher...in fact, she is another one of Clint's past teachers. She had the pleasure? of teaching Clint for two years...4th and 6th grade.

Needless to say, Madelyn was not starved for attention while in Lubbock...here she is with both of her grandfathers reading to her!

First Try

Well, here goes...my first post! Our weekend started out with Madelyn getting to watch Saturday morning cartoons. Don't worry...we are not in the habit of letting our 5 month old watch TV, but her nails needed clipping and staring at a TV screen is the only way to keep her from trying to grab...or eat...the nail clippers!

We then wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather so we headed to the nature preserve near our house. The trees were beginning to bloom, so we stopped for some good photo opps.

It still didn't seem like time to go home for a nap just yet, so we stopped at a neighborhood park for Madelyn's first slide ride!

She would have been happy to just chew on the slide!

Ok, now it is naptime.

After only five and a half months, we've finally decided to bring our parenting into the 21st century by broadcasting the daily life of our daughter on a blog. After all, we find her to be extremely delightful, so why deprive our biggest supporters (our family and friends...as well as the general public) of her daily activities. No more waiting a month for a Madelyn update...no more jpeg downloads...this is up to date blogging with the Ivys. Please enjoy our Ramblings.
