Horseshoe Bay!

This past weekend we had plans to go to Horseshoe Bay but ended up going to Austin a day early because Clint had some work to do there. Madelyn and I were car-less all day so we walked down to the park and spent the morning there and had lunch too.
We stayed at Hotel Vieiro! Madelyn and Jen playing...
Gui's turn!...

We were lucky enough to have dinner with friends that night. M with Gui and Jen
M with Allison and Jordan
the girls...
The guys held our purses while Clint took the girl picture. Notice how comfortable Jordan seems as he carries on a conversation...hmmmm
Madelyn and Cooper (her best friend at the restaurant!). There was a playground and grassy area by the patio, so after dinner we hung around for a bit so the adults could talk and Madelyn and Cooper could entertain themselves :)
On our way out to the lake, we stopped by Shady Grove for a delicious lunch outside! M's hamburger was bigger than her face!

Then we rode the train at Zilker Park!!
Madelyn had a present waiting for her at the lake...a new paint set! She loved it...thanks! She even gave Pop a turn...
Rebecca (Clint's cousin) and Madelyn...I think they both look gorgeous here
While we waited for the weather to warm up for outdoor activities, we (for some reason) did some experimenting with eggs. Here is Clint blowing out an egg from it's shell. Apparently you can do this before painting Easter eggs rather than hard boil them.
Then I told everyone that it is not possible to break an egg by squeezing with your fist (I swear I heard that somewhere). As you can see below, I was wrong :) The yolk splattered ALL over the kitchen!
Madelyn reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear to Pop. Her new thing is reading books to us rather than having them read to her...it's cute!
By late afternoon, Madelyn was convinced it was warm enough to swim, so we gave it a shot. She soon realized the water was FREEZING! She mostly just stood in the water and kicked and splashed, but a few times managed to withstand the cold and sit down for about 30 seconds at a time :)
Rebecca and I were the only ones brave enough to even put our feet in with her...

Despite the cold, she had fun with her pouring cups!
Then Madelyn wanted to feed the ducks, but she ended up eating most of the bread herself :)
and Brian's birthday is coming up, so we celebrated!
Here's the birthday boy doing the "dinosaur walk." Yes, ladies, he is single :)
Thanks Mary Lou and Bruce for having us for the weekend. It was so great to see everyone!

  1. Fun weekend! Charlotte has the same pink shirt but with different tights. It's a 12 M so maybe if Madelyn can still wear her outfit this summer we can take a twins pic!

  2. I'm not sure she is very excited about giving Pop a turn with her paint set...that expression doesn't show excitement:) I wouldn't want to share either!
