4th Birthday Party!

We had Madelyn's party a couple of weeks early in case her baby brother decided to show up! She had a princess themed swimming party and had a blast!

 the swim test...so she could swim without an adult in the water. (Clint and I swam anyway :) )

the kids did this over and over...jumped back and forth between these 2 blue floats. I kept thinking the lifeguards would make them stop, but they never said anything, so neither did we...and thankfully nobody crashed into each other!

Super Sibling

A few Saturdays ago, Madelyn took a big sibling class at the hospital! It was really cute and informative.

They made a door hanger craft, watched a video, and read a book

Then they each got a baby doll and learned how to change a diaper

and swaddle the baby!

Dr. Madelyn! The kids got to dress up as doctors and took a tour of the labor and delivery floor as well as the nursery. Clint and I paid attention for this part, as I am delivering at a different hospital this time and didn't know where to go myself :) On the tour, Madelyn spotted a vending machine and told me she was going to have one of the nurses take her to get a snack while I am in the hospital...don't think that is in their job description!

and unrelated to the class, here is Madelyn's new bedding, which she absolutely loves! She even wants to make her bed in the mornings so it will look pretty! She did not learn that from me ;) Oh, and the picture shows a bed rail, but after the first night, we took them off. Too hard to make the bed with rails on. She is getting so big!!

Labor Day

We spent an extra long Labor Day weekend in Lubbock. It included several "firsts" for Madelyn!

We had a cook out in my parents backyard and cooked hot dogs and s'mores over a fire pit! 

And Madelyn spent her FIRST night in a tent! She was so excited that she didn't go to sleep until after 11 and was up and ready to go by 6 am! She and my dad were a little tired the next day! 

And she shot her FIRST bebe gun! I was assured there was a lesson in gun safety first! Thanks to Clint for taking some pics...I wasn't there...my mom and I opted for pedicures instead :)

We also went to the first Tech game of the season. Madelyn and Claire made friendship bracelets at the tail gate!

And Madelyn went on her FIRST hunt! dove hunting! Again, I took no part in this, but was glad to see the pics! My dad said she had to be ready by 6:30 am. What?!? (Can you tell there was not a lot of sleeping on this trip?)
They first stopped for the essentials...breakfast tacos, donuts, and chocolate milk!
