Last Friday night we got to have dinner with Jamie, Niki, Steve, and Rhonda! Jamie is a friend from elementary school! Can you guess what she was in town for? Yep, her sister Niki's baby shower...

the girls

We went to Macaroni Grill where it is ok to color on the tablecloth, so here is Madelyn coloring with Jamie (and eating the crayons)

Here is Steve (their dad) practicing to be a first time grandpa. I'd say he's going to do alright judging by the HUGE smile on Madelyn's face!

Madelyn and her daddy!
...she likes to violently pull out Clint's hair while riding up there

We can't wait to meet Baby Boy Fowler...coming in October! Maybe he and M will share a birthday!

Dracula!

Clint likes to make smoothies in the morning, and Madelyn is a huge fan! As soon as she sees the glass, she points to it and gets mad if we do not give her some. As you can see, it is quite messy, but it is healthy and she thinks it is delicious, so no complaints here!

Last week, I think...I have fallen behind on my blogging, we went to Carter's for a playdate to try out his new ball pit! Carter turns one next week and this was an early birthday present. Madelyn was a little unsure about the ball pit her first time, but she did enjoy sitting outside of it and taking all the balls out.

Then she practiced for UT cheerleading try-outs!
Carter also has a porch swing, so we took advantage of that too.
But the highlight of the day for Madelyn were the dogs!! She starts to laugh anytime she sees a dog and this was no exception.
She even likes to be licked in the face! yuck! She ended up with dog spit all in her hair!
Thanks to all the dog spit and the fact that Madelyn tried to eat a leaf and it wouldn't go down and she ended up throwing up, she had to have a bath. So Carter joined of course.

Thanks Jordan and Carter for a fun day!

Breckenridge

Last week we were with my mom's whole side of the family! We get together every year and this year our destination was beautiful Breckenridge, CO. We all stayed in one (yes, one!) large cabin. It was great seeing the family and everyone had lots of fun.

Here is Madelyn on the plane. There was no one in the seat between Clint and I so it became Madelyn's. She sat in the seat by herself, strapped into the seatbelt, and was entertained by books, snacks, and toys. Clint and I actually did a little reading on the plane!

Cousin pictures!

we went walking/shopping and out to eat in town

"Can you see my adorable new boots?"

and more family photos

Here are some family pics...my grandparents (we had a b-day party for them - she turns 80 this year and he turns 90! Happy Birthday!), my mom with her sister Marie, and a group of us heading out for a hike.

My mom was nice enough to stay home with Madelyn for her nap while we went kayaking...or canoeing for me and Sara.

my dad and I

and we even managed to squeeze in one bath...a community bath with plenty of toys!

some more cute pics...Jake helping Clint up after loading M into the backpack...I think they just like to hold hands

Madelyn on the bus with the boys! We had to ride the bus up to the ski lift, which we rode to get to the alpine slides...maybe my new favorite thing...the slides were so fun! I love CO in the summer!!

This is Madelyn on the bus ride back down. She was like a dog with it's head hanging out the window. She loved the breeze from all the open windows and wouldn't stop smiling. Everyone on the bus was watching her and laughing!

just thought these were cute! she likes to play peek-a-boo with Clint's hat

and apparently the hiking was hard work, and Madelyn needed to stop for a water break!

I think it's been a week or more now, but Sonja was in town for a wedding, so we had the pleasure of going to lunch with her! Sonja is a good friend from college and still lives in Austin (lucky her!). Here she is with Madelyn...

Last night we had dinner with Clint's Aunt Mary Lou! Their family recently moved to Toronto and we hope to be able to visit them soon!

And we recently got back from Colorado, so I will be posting those pics soon...waiting on a few slowpokes to send me the pics from their cameras.

Are these presents for me??

Madelyn and I went to my friend Melissa's baby shower! It was so great to see her and I can't wait for Ananda to be born...pretty soon now! Melissa is such a cute pregnant lady and is going to be an absolutely amazing mom. Madelyn thought all the presents were for her and would make a bee-line for them the second I put her down...of course, she really only wanted the tissue paper and bows! Anyway, Melissa was very sweet and let her niece and Madelyn "help" her open her presents. She got lots of great things.

You have a baby...

in a bar...sushi bar that is!! (Is anyone else a Sweet Home Alabama fan?) There was a wait for a "real" table, but the bar was open, so we pulled up a high chair! Madelyn wanted so badly to have a taste, but I'm pretty sure raw fish is on the list of no-no's for babies (considering I am not technically supposed to even have it while nursing). When we got there, the bar was pretty empty, but every seat filled quickly...Madelyn was on her best behavior at her first bar though. Funny thing is Katie was here for work a few nights ago and we were meeting her for dinner. When deciding where to eat, she said "I'm at a sushi restaurant with co-workers right now, but we wouldn't want to eat here...it's not somewhere you would want to take a baby!" I was like, uh, we ate there last weekend! haha!

Petting Farm

Yesterday Jordan and I took Carter and Madelyn to a petting farm! It sounded like lots of fun, but wasn't quite what we expected. They were only able to actually pet the goats (and the donkey because we let them without the staff there), but there were some other animals to see...deer, turkey, bunnies, cow, sheep, etc. Madelyn loves animals and would start to smile/laugh as soon as we got near one. We will have to go to the zoo when it cools off a little.

There was a playground outside of the farm so we stopped to let them play a bit. Madelyn kept wanting down to crawl at the farm, but with the obvious poop covering the ground, I decided it wasn't the best idea.
Peek-a-boo

And the highlight of the day may have been that we went to Braums twice during the outing (it's not even that good)... once before for lunch (at 10:30 a.m. ) and then after for ice cream!! Pretty sure we made a mess both times, so I don't think they were too excited to see us back...and it doesn't help that I dropped my milkshake into the trash the second she handed it to me...and then handed Madelyn her water cup without properly screwing on the lid...we were having a messy day! (Yes, I got a second shake for free)
