Birthday Party!!!

Not only were we in Austin for Major and Jaime's wedding but also for Madelyn's first birthday party! It was a wonderful weekend with family and friends!
to start from the beginning...here is Madelyn's invitation:

the set-up before the cupcakes arrived...

not much eating happens when balloons are tied to her chair!

Granny and Papa already had a present for Madelyn, but when they went to Costco that morning, Papa came back with this awesome rocking horse that moves his head and tail and neighs! Thanks Papa!! And, only Papa would think to give you a 48 pack of batteries with it!

me and my 2 grandmothers

Madelyn's ladybug cupcake! the others were pink and green...

She didn't really know what to think of the cupcake. I think she liked it, but didn't really know what to do with it since it wasn't in bite size pieces. She ate some of the icing and pretty much destroyed the ladybug, but overall the consumption was not high.

more cupcake eaters!

Clint's dad, Aunt Mary Lou, and cousin Rebecca were at Horseshoe Bay for the weekend and drove in for the party!
It worked out so perfectly that my dad's side of the family was in town for the wedding and my grandparents (on my mom's side) and Aunt Nicole, Chad, and cousin Alexandra live in Cedar Park, so they were all there too!
Madelyn did a great job opening her presents, and boy did she get a lot of presents! Everyone totally spoiled her and she got a wonderful variety of great toys! Here are a few pics of her opening her presents...
giving her new doll from Ananda a hug
wearing a bow
books, books, and more books! Madelyn can never have too many...she reads almost all of her books every single day!

camouflage boots from Uncle Kyle...and yes, that is Kyle modeling M's b-day hat and bib...he may kill me for including this one!
tea set from Great-Grandma and Grandpa

keepsake doll from Great-Granny and Papa

Pop got her a dog that wags it's tail and barks!

check out my HUGE red wagon from Gramma and Papa Jo! I just couldn't wait to get in it!

I really appreciate everyone coming to Madelyn's party, but Keegan and Blythe get an extra thank you for coming all the way from Lubbock! What a great friend and an adorable baby!

and Melissa gets a special thank you also for venturing out with her 3 week old, Ananda!!! Ananda was precious, and I'm so glad I got to meet her!

Every time Melissa would put Ananda's blanket on her, Madelyn would pull it off...I guess she wanted her to stay and play a little longer!

I got to meet another new baby on Saturday too....Lauren (a friend from high school) and Randal brought their cutie Layla. Madelyn was immediately drawn to Layla and kept reaching for her....if only she was big enough to get down and play with me!

more party pics...

Party Favors! my dad and papa passing them out...

Madelyn becoming deliriously tired by the end...

Madelyn had a wonderful first birthday! Thank you to everyone that came to the party, got a gift, sent a card, called with birthday wishes, or in any other way contributed to Madelyn feeling so special and loved. We really appreciate everyone's support so far with raising Madelyn.
