Austin Weekend!

We spent last weekend in Austin! We were going for a baby shower, but we were able to make it a long weekend because Clint had some work he needed to do in Austin.

When we arrived, Madelyn had been couped up in the car all day, so we went to the park. The weather was gorgeous and all three of us enjoyed being outside.

Then they decided it was more fun to put the rocks down the slide than to slide themselves...

Madelyn still enjoys the baby swings but often insists to ride the big swings too!

We stayed at Jen and Gui's house (thanks guys) and Friday morning, Madelyn did yoga with Jen! OK, she thought Jen was a tunnel and kept crawling back and forth...

Lauren (a friend from high school) and her little girl Layla came for a playdate! Madelyn immediately pulled Layla's socks off her feet...
took her own shoes off...
and put Layla's socks on! Sweet Layla did not seem to mind...she is holding Madelyn's lovie so maybe they figured it was fair :)
Friday afternoon we went to the park again. It was much cooler that day but still nice to get out.

Jen and Gui were such wonderful hosts! They had prepared meals in advance and everything was delicious! Here is a veggie tray they served...which was much appreciated...I have been trying to eat more vegetables. (Does anyone have any good recipes?)
Our friends from grad school (who now live in Austin), Allison and Jordan, came over for dinner Friday night!! It was so great to see them and catch up!

Then Saturday was the baby shower. Amy (one of my very best friends...we have known each other since elementary school and lived together in college) is the mom-to-be!

Katie stayed with us at Jen and Gui's house on Sat night. It was so great to have the extra time with her

Then, when we got back in town on Sunday, Madelyn and I went straight to another baby shower for my friend Laura!

Then, (we had a very busy day and weekend!) Patrice and Olivia came over. Some of you may remember them from older postings. They used to live here and the girls would play often but they have moved to Houston and were in Dallas for the weekend.
